Documentary Fortnight, 2010

February 17–March 3, 2010

Documentary Fortnight: MoMA's International Festival of Nonfiction Film highlights the art of the documentary. Established in 2001, this annual two-week showcase of recent nonfiction film and video takes place each February. The selections of international documentaries, all of which are New York premieres, are feature and short documentaries in all creative categories (animation, experimental, essay, hybrid, personal, social-realist, vérité, and those that extend the boundaries between fact and fiction). In addition to the Special Highlights juried selection, the festival also includes thematic programs related to documentary trends. Many of the filmmakers are present throughout the two weeks to introduce and discuss their films. The full Doc Fortnight 2010 schedule will be posted in January.

Submit a film for consideration in this year's Documentary Fortnight via Withoutabox.

New Directors/New Films, 2010

March 24–April 4, 2010

Now in its thirty-ninth year, the renowned New Directors/New Films festival, presented jointly by The Film Society of Lincoln Center and The Museum of Modern Art, introduces New York audiences to the work of emerging or not-yet-established filmmakers from around the world. All of the films in New Directors/New Films are having either U.S. or New York premieres, and many of the screenings are introduced by the filmmakers. This year the festival takes place at the Walter Reade Theater at Lincoln Center and at The Roy and Niuta Titus Theater 1 at MoMA.
